My Lechon Success!!!

The other day I posted this on my 'at home with me' section. A recipe for making Lechon using the oven. I am posting it here again so there would be photos to go with it.

LECHON SA OVEN

Ingredients:
-Pork Picnic, of course with the skin part
- salt - garlic
- pepper
- maggi savor to enrich flavor ( i just used this for brushing mixed with the drippings)

Procedure:
- Preheat Oven 350°F
- Clean pork. Put in pan and rub genorously with salt, pepper all over. I also sprayed it with Maggi Savor
- Bake for 4 hours
- check every hour and brush skin and pork with drippings
- Increase the oven temp to 450°F for another 30 minutes
- By this time, the skin would be crispy.

Make your own sauce:
from vinegar, soy sauce, lemon, garlic or just buy the ready made ones

Sarap! Enjoy!

- I got up early to do the prep work. Giving the pork a good massage.I also followed Joey's recipe. rubbing it with garlic all over and adding an hour. thanks Joey..

- Thank you to Lucille and Josie too for sharing their lechon tips. They make the best lechon here in the Willamette Valley!

By 8 am , the pork was inside the oven. then I got busy with other daily activities.

This is how it looks after an hour. The first 30 minutes inside the oven. The house was smelling yummy already. I took it out to brush it with the drippings. I just added the Savor with the brushings.

After three hours, I increased the temp to 450°F and brushing it more frequently.

After 4 hours, this is the result! Success!
